As mobile shopping evangelists who herald the push notification as the holy grail of targeted customer communications, Shopgate is proud to unveil a new set of features to enhance the push notification capabilities of our retailers.

These new features propel our push notification engine upward, giving retailers enhanced options for engaging their customers, with customized messages based on specific user actions. Push notifications have a click-through rate more than 5x higher than email. Better yet, apps that send push notifications see 7x higher retention rates than apps that don't. For us, the decision to develop enhanced push features is an easy one: better engagement opportunities for retailers means happier app users, more purchases, and increased customer loyalty. With the updated features, push strategies become even easier, with hands-off customizations, that can send automated messages based on specific user actions.

There are several ways retailers can leverage our powerful new automated messaging features. By identifying the "app events" detailed below, Shopgate users can seamlessly launch the following messages types.

  • Automated Push Notifications for Inactive Users. Set up push notifications for users that haven't  been active in the app for a specified period of time, for instance, 30 days. You can entice consumers back in by providing additional incentives like discount codes or limited time offers.
  • Automated Push Notifications for Abandoned Cart. This allows you to set up automated push notifications for all users who've left their cart without completing the checkout process. The default delivery time is 24 hours after app users abandoned the cart.
  • Automated Push Notifications for Price Reduced. You can set up push notifications to be sent when an item from a customer's "favorites" lists go on sale.
  • Automated Push Notifications when an item is shipped. You can set up push notifications to be sent when an order is shipped.

With this feature, Shopgate merchants are able to choose the period of time which works best to deliver the message to their consumers.
